better security for customers on main page -- online
To the IT Dept., I would strongly recommend that you please encrypt the main page where people type in their login ID, because that could easily be seen by others and used inappropriately. We are current customers, and were shocked to discover that you deliberately don't encrypt that main page. We just assumed you did. Thanks.

Hi Kelli!
Thanks for dropping us a note.
Believe it or not, the login itself is indeed encrypted.
I am going to apologize for being a little techie here, but here is the official explanation:
The front page appears to be unsecured because the encryption is applied only to the frame that houses the login and not to the rest of the site. Hence you don't see the lock or the "https://" in the URL. However, if you right-click on the online banking login and view it's properties, you will see that the frame itself is indeed operating in SSL mode (https): https://login.wintrustbank.com/libert...
Doing it this way speeds up website performance while ensuring the security of the login itself is intact.
Rest assured that all your information is being secured at all times and that the entire session is encrypted for your safety.
Thanks again for the note! -
